I love to cook also Mr Sal I always wanted to own a farm that’s still a dream of mine and I want to turn that dream into a reality. My backyard is a open canvas so for right now I am planning to have a garden next year the front of my house is my flower garden which I love but I am tired of buying veggies that I can grow myself. My god mom my mom best friend is Italian . They met at work years ago when my mom worked on Wall Street as a secretary and my godmother (aunt) Betty worked there also she was only 16 and my mom was 24. She lived from Bensonhurst which was very prejudiced against blacks. My mom could never visit her house because her dad didn’t like Black people so my mom follow up to Harlem to meet her family and they’ve been friends for many many years.she has a heart of gold and I love her so much she now lives in Wilmington NC and she never had kids so myself and my siblings became her kids also. Her husband passed many years ago. I might need some gardening tips if you don’t mind Mr Sal. Lol

Hello! It’s so wonderful that you have written back to me. I’m not the best to ask about gardening as it only now that I’m learning. My friends on Nextdoor have helped me and it’s been fun to have new friends at this time in my life! Please give me a little time to learn how to enter my stories into my new site! Being this old has made me miss a lot of the internet and all the nw stuff around now!My third sonmake a great living with the internet! But I’m illiterate in that sense!again “Hello and Welcome “ Sal

Reading your stories is like poking my head into the past and taking a good look around, and a big whiff of the air outside. I can almost hear the Italian music playing in the background like the beginning of some classic movie. Thank you for sharing your stories, and your history. Only good things will come of this. I’m glad you finally have your own forum where you can print out these things as they come to mind. Thanks for sharing.

Today while at CVS, while awaiting for my prescription, I noticed a small rack of magazines! What was once a whole counter is now two lines of magazines maybe ten in all! Having to wait I looked at each, and not one could i remember ever reading, but the last one i picked up was one thathad 50 different kinds of soups!after brouseing through it i was amazed and said to myself hay, it would be fun to make them, and so i added to my drugs, one of which costs $300.00!!!!! I was more amazed at the price of the magazine: $14.00! But now im going to make my own „“French Onion Soup“ What fun I’m going to have thinking of my Mom as i make them! Hey what about a nice bowl strachtelle soup!
